Verdi – Grand March from Aida (Brass Quintet)

Composer: Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901)
Duration: 6 minutes
Price: £30
Grade: 6-8
Instrumentation: Brass Quintet

From the four act opera Aida of 1871, this triumphant march movement remains one of the most famous trumpet melodies in the repertoire, during which Radames leads the Egyptian army on its victory over the Ethiopians. I first arranged this piece for the Trumpet Ensemble of Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and since adapted it into an accessible Brass Quintet version for the Kensington Brass light classical summer garden party series in 2023.

This is an audience favourite light-classical style piece for any Brass Quintet to include in their repertoire.
