Silent Night is one of my favourite Christmas Carols. There are so many ways to arrange this piece to make it sound amazing on brass. Arranged for Christmas 2019, this particular version is inspired by the Gospel/New Orleans style of Harry Connick Junior on his exceptional Christmas albums. It features a really heavy triplet swing and requires the players of the accompaniment and bass lines to be very rhythmically precise. The trombone plays the first verse of the melody, with some space for interpretation of the melody, and the second verse is a trumpet solo. Incredibly bluesy, this will be a very fresh version of the popular German carol that audiences will really enjoy.
